Toad is useless and Monty Mole is just as bad, imo.

I use Shy Guy a lot.
Although he's been classified as "Balanced", I find him to be very powerful.

And Hammer Bro is second best, no doubt. Hammer spammers are dumb, though.

I usally use 1 Boo, 1 Hammer Bro, and 1 Dry Bones. Sometimes I use shy guy.

Dry Bones is a great sidekick. I just which he was a better passer, that's all.
He's almost unstoppable at times.

Also, never use Boo to shoot. Boo is great at dekeing and he's definitely better than Toad in terms of what his role is as a Playmaker. He really is an asset to a Power team at times. Other times, he can be a hinderance. XD

I only shoot with Boo is with his skillshot. Also His deke is pretty cool.

I don't even use Boo for a skillshot. Just not worth it, imo.
Boo can be good. It's interesting though because I used to think he was completely useless and was only used by idiots who could only spam their way to victory. Boy was I wrong. :o
