Birdo is FAR superior to Monty, imo. I used to use Birdo a lot but now, not as much as I dont like her deke too much. My friend does worse when I pick Birdo so Id pick her then, just not on Wi-Fi like I used to.

Indeed. My friend HATES it when I use her, heh.
But it's only unstoppable if noone is in the way.
Her success rate is only slightly higher than Hammer Bro's, imo.
Birdo's deke is annoying, though, but she's way better than Monty, imo.

So then don't use her skillshot unless you're sure you're open. Charge it for a bit then release and you'll fire a powerful shot. Hopefully, someone will be there on the other side for a rebound and you can smash it in, most likely.
