We don't have a "load of crap games" but there are quite a few, I'll give you that. But as I said in the other topic, while this may seem good on paper, Nintendo wouldn't do that for third-party releases, am I right EF? I forget exactly what we said about this though. I barely even remember what topic it was in.

Yeah, but honestly. Releasing games like Drake and Josh for DS and Alvin and the Chipmunks for the Wii? Just by looking at the covers of those games, they don't even look good. >.>

Play test them first.

And i doubt even microsoft playtest games and check if they are up to scratch with third party developers. Maybe 2nd, and most likely first, but not third. It's highly unlikely, no company does it.

Nintendo does screen games, they always screen their own games, 1st party, and almost certainly 2nd party, why d'ya think we are getting alot of good first and second party games. Because 1st and 2nd party are generally owned by nintendo anyway. [i think thats right?]

It's just the fact nintendo has a bigger third party companies on the console than any other types right now, due to the huge success of the Wii.

The "bigger 3rd companies" are mostly companies just wanting some quick money.

Games like 'Drake and Josh' may not appeal to you, but they do very well with the kid Disney/Nickelodeon crowd.

One persons trash is another persons treasure, thats why there are a variety of 'casual' games which may 'suck' still make loads of money.

Nintendo also makes money from these games, so they could care less whether they are actually good or not.

RE: Should Nintendo "screen" their games first?

Personally i mainly play nintendo's major games... mk wii etc etc...

I've had absolutely no problems so far... maybe a few minor differences such as battle mode on mkwii but aside from that, it's fine...

what other developers decide to do is up to them, but personally, i think nintendo have a sound process, and they should stick to it

No, the smaller third party are the quick cash ins.

Ubisoft, Sega, EA, all have been attempting to create decent Wii Games. And you can find prime examples, as Ubisoft themselves made red steel, which is a very deep involving game.
