Sequel Discussion
In a recent interview, the creator of Galaxy said that he'd might even be interested in creating a sequel to Galaxy further down the road. This news is welcoming, indeed, but from your standards, how could Galaxy's sequel improve on an alreayd "epic" game?
One thing I can say to start us off, multiplayer is needed, despite it being an adventure game, 4-person or even 2-person multiplayer races through stages is a lot more fun than it may sound, especially with how much fun the levels in Galaxy are.

RE: Sequel Discussion
High expectations indeed. :o
Can you imagine how big hype would be on the sequel?
I wonder what else they could improve in terms of gameplay...
Maybe add some remixed traditional pipe, 2-D stages controlled with the Remote held sideways like SPM?

RE: Sequel Discussion
Multiplayer isn't needed. It's a one-player open world game. Those kind of games thrive on being single player, as some genres--like open world games--don't need to go multiplayer, see what happened to the co-op?
Multiplayer has been put into many games lately, some of which didn't need a multiplayer function (Super Mario 64 DS). An open world game doesn't need Multiplayer to succeed, as Assassin's Creed (for those who has played it are to know) has clearly proven. I should also state that if an open world is to have a multiplayer function, it should only be co-op. If the function was inevitable, I would like the co-op function of Mario being player 1 and Luigi being player 2, that would be cool.
Now that I think of it, why hasn't Nintendo come up with a game in which 2 players play as the bros to work together in a campaign like setting (not like the originals where you swap turns, but at the same time)? That's just a masterpiece waiting to happen.

RE: Sequel Discussion
I agree, Brant. I miss those days... but the stages are notably logner so it may not work as well. Which is where Co-Op comes into play.
Wi-Fi incorporation would be great, as well, if they had Leaderboards. They should've had Time Attack or something to race through the levels in the fastest time.
The racing missions was a good start.
