Like I said, for Time Attacks (i.e., speed runs, fastest runthroughs in various stages).

i think a sequel would be too overated... and well online would be too hard to incorporate, but maybe a multiplayer would be nice, something a little better than the poor star shooting system currently on there...

If they make a second Galaxy game, they need to make it Co-op capable, with Mario with Luigi. When there isn't a player two, Luigi is an AI or is gone when unneeded but when a second player joins they take Luigi's spot.

It almost seemed as if this was going to happen for Super Mario 64 DS but we were disappointed.

Yeah, i must admit, the multiplay on mario64 DS was very disappointing, but on topic, if there was a sequel, i'd love to see them get rid of the star bit shooting option... it was extremely underused, and the angles it fired from were appalling

Co-Op is a must for a sequel. Decent co-op that is.
Multiplayer would certainly extend the Replay Value as would leaderboards, as was mentioned.

I've always been a fan of a good co-op, as i like to play co-op's with my sister (awesome gamer), we're currently playing Ring of Fates right now
