It's true, just look at all the youtube videos showing this IS possible. Though, I wouldn't reccomend kids doing this. If you do, don't leave them unattended unless you blow them out THEN doing whatever you need to do. Wouldn't want a fire.

It's pretty neat but it doesn't surprise me as it has to do with light sources and the like.

if you take th IR (ifer red) filters off (those little glassish this near the ends of youe sencor bar) you can use any light source as your wiimote(for pionting)

example: a flashlight.

Yeah, I heard about this a long while ago, but wasn't totally sure that it worked until I started having problems with my wiimote around Christmastime. Nothing was wrong with my wiimote, but I had Christmas lights right next to my TV, and they kept messing up the connection between the sensor bar and the wiimote. Then I was sure that candles would work.

candles beside christmas lights?!?!?! thats a fire waiting to happen.

Hrm, what else could you put on the top of your TV to replace that sensor bar?

Strobe lights (seizer warning, but makes a great party)

lasers (ouch)

I guess these could be last resort replacements...

No, I didn't have candles AND Christmas lights. I had Christmas lights next to my TV, and if those worked as a sensor bar, I was sure that candles would.

oh i thought your sencor bar didnt work because of the lights above your tv so you put candles there sorry for the confusion.
