Mario's Best 3D Outing Yet?
Is it?
Compare it to SM64, Sunshine and this and discuss.
I think Sunshine is second best and it's underappreciated. It was a great game. But Galaxy... Galaxy is just breathtakingly fabulous. DEFINITELY his best. SM64 wore off after a while, for me, even as a kid. Sunshine captivated me for a long time and Galaxy, I'm sure, will do the same once I buy it. :o

I agree with you KS8, Sunshine was way too unappreciated, but still, Galaxy was better.
I've never been disappointed with a Super Mario 3D game yet though.

I love them all. I love the old ones because retro is some of the funnest to play and galaxy because it is up-to-date. I've played a little of Sunshine but I still like galaxy best.

They're all good. However, I've lost track of how many times I've played Super Mario 64, which speaks for itself. Sunshine and Galaxy look nice, have some fresh ideas, and were fun while they lasted, but they don't have as much of a long-lasting appeal, in my opinion.

RE: Mario's Best 3D Outing Yet?
I'll have to play Galaxy longer, I guess, but right for now, I think Sunshine was better and more fun. Galaxy is just MUCH too easy for me. It seems like that's the way Nintendo is trying to make its games lately. I haven't gotten all of the 120 stars in Galaxy, but I haven't played it in a little while, because it just seemed like I was going through a "process" of just running around the game collecting things. It has not been challenging so far. I have never thought, "What in the world am I supposed to do?" yet. Another thing about Galaxy that I didn't really like was that you could go to Bowser and beat the game without even going through the whole storyline. I hadn't even gotten to the last "room" yet, and I had already beaten the game. That shouldn't be possible. Sunshine captivated me for hours and hours and hours. I loved and still love that game. No offense to 64, but Sunshine was better than it. Also, I think that 64 was better than Galaxy for most of the same reasons.

JD, you're totally right.
Despite the criticisms that seemingly "plagued" Sunshine, it was a lot better than SM64 and it captivated me much more. But Galaxy.. Galaxy is simply put, pure genius on the part of Nintendo and it's a memorable game and will continue to BE a memorable game for years to come.

It's not easy, but it's not overly challenging, that's my take on it from when I rented it.
