thats what im saying, basically they'll start selling hard drives or bring out more memory sd cards

An SD card for me is just for taking pictures or save games to a friends house. Imagine having 10 1GB SD cards, and trying to find a VC game you wanted to play :lol:

Yeah, exactly. That's why I'm thinking SD Cards for games = optional. They should have the External Hard Drive not just the SD Cards.

There gonna need one when they start downloadable content and WiiWare. I wish they would just make one already. They should do a deal, if you got your Wii before a certain time, you get money off the External Hard Drive

Hmmm, I think that the memory card was one of the best/worst inventions for consoles.

True, max. The memory card could go BOTH ways.

They worked on older consoles, but as game saves get bigger and downloads more avaliable, we need more memory. Something I think Nintendo failed to think about :glare:

Here's SOMETHING they're trying to help w/ the space problem:

"Today at the Game Developers Conference Nintendo's Takashi Aoyama gave a talk titled "Planning the Wii Menu: From Pre-launch to WiiWare." During his speech he revealed a few new details on the upcoming downloadable game service.

Obviously, space is a problem on the Wii. The system's internal 512MB of flash memory fills up fast when you're downloading games. To keep the size of WiiWare titles down, Nintendo is keeping the game manuals online, viewable from the Shop Channel. Customers can check out the manuals at any time, even before they download a game.

Also, WiiWare titles will be compressed. When you start a game it will then expand.

Just like Virtual Console titles, WiiWare games can be deleted and re-downloaded as often as needed, and can be moved to an SD card to free up room on your console."
