RE: Does pricing of some WiiWare titles need change?
yeah i think some titles are a little over priced the prices may change
when they reach NA but i feel pokemon ranch should be 500 points
not 1000.
also i think Dr. mario is a little over priced too, i think it should have been
800 points and star soldier with only 2 levels seems like 800 points is a little too much to ask for.

RE: Does pricing of some WiiWare titles need change?
Compared to VC games Wiiware is a decent price, but because VC games are overpriced, WiiWare is also overpriced.
Considering $25 = 2000 Wii Points, a normal WiiWare game costs 1000 points which is $12.50.
But for a normal PSN or LIVE game, the average cost is $9.99
So Nintendo is overcharging about $3 worth for every WiiWare game.

Yeah, but you have to think that nintendo isn't recieved all the money for this. They are actually letting the wiiware developers take their cut too... and some wiiware titles will be full games developed by large companies, so depending on the title, the price could be fair or not, as some games will be better than others

WAIT A SECOND! sonic582, Star Soldier R: Only 2 LEVELS?!! :o
I need a source! I was looking forward to that too. :o
And yes, Dr. Mario's pricing is absolutely ridiculous as is Pokemon Ranch. I'll just ask someone to give me the demo of Dr. Mario and that will suffice for me.

Pokemon ranch isn't really a game now is it... it's just somewhere where you can see your pkmn in 3d, and to be honest, Pokemon:BR is good enough for me, but Dr Mario, it could be good, or it could be bad, i'll have to wait and see.
I'm quite looking forward to some of square enix's wii ware titles though

Did you even read the article you posted? I quote:
IGN said today that the "R" in Star Soldier R stands for "rip-off," and it's tough to disagree. You can go buy Star Soldier for GameCube, which runs on the Wii and contains the exact same two levels in this version, for about what the WiiWare version costs.
http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/03/wiiw...press.html
In the two-minute mode, you'll play through one brief stage and try to shoot down as many enemies and collect as many items as you can for a big score. The five-minute mode is similar, but features two levels with two boss encounters at the end of each.
I can see it getting very old very fast for casual players, as there are only the two stages.

I read that article and another similar one that also had impressions, actually but I must've missed that part. :o

RE: Does pricing of some WiiWare titles need change?
I always see people say they get charged 25 dollars for wii points cards
which is wierd for me since they never charge me more then 19.99.
I don't believe all VC games are over priced certain titles like
powerball and china warrior are overpriced but some game's like
the dynastic hero goes for about 400 dollars on EBAY
so those games are a steal at 8 bucks.
You have to remember that the server costs for every VC game they
host costs money also lawyers they hire to deal with legal issue's with the
VC game's cost money as well, so nintendo doesn't really make pure profit.
Hudson soft actually has an entire legal team to hunt down old licenses
for games, i can only imagine how much that costs alone.
and sorry for going off topic.

RE: Does pricing of some WiiWare titles need change?
$24.99 here in Canada, s582. Comes to $28 total. There's only one place here that charges $19.99 and that's Toys R Us.
And yeah, we're discussing overpriced WiiWare titles, not VC Titles.
