I'm not sure how you can lose your SD cards. I mean, you don't go around losing your GBA and DS games either, do you?
Not to mention just one single 2GB SD card should be enough to store VC and WiiWare stuff, unless you really mass buy stuff.
That said, I dislike the way SD cards are implemented, - stuff needs to be copied back to the Wii to be used - as it's just totally inconvenient. I really hope for some more convenient thing to be released.

SD cards are handy, but i would expect nintendo to release external flash drives intead of a big and bulky hard-drive or maybe, USB flash drives, they are used often and the Wii has usb.

To be honest, though, I can see it getting a tad ridiculous. Including the game, you're paying, with all DLC, practically $30-$40 for FFCC:MLK. Now that may seem like a cheap-off to many having things "restricted" from you that could've been in the game anyway, and I semi-agree. But if they can rectify it a bit better (Big N, that is) and not go entirely on the route of Square Enix like they did with FFCC, then I think it'll be a force for good.

Wii Watchlist: Sonic Unleashed, Blast Works, Wii Fit, ACWii, SSX Blur 2, Elebits 2

FFCC is a horrible example anyway, as some hackers found out that all the character and dungeon data that is offered as "Downloadable Content" is actually ALREADY IN THE GAME YOU DOWNLOADED (In the US-Release anyway, not sure about the Japanese one). You only download a small bit of code that changes those things to "unlocked"! Granted, there's some actual downloadable content, like the extra costumes, but still, that's a MAJOR rip-off!
That won't stop me from getting the game, though, but still, what the hell were they THINKING?

ARE YOU SERIOUS?! :o
I knew DLC was a waste but c'mon. that's just plain absurd!!!
I just bought the game for my sib yesterday and I gotta say, it's awesome.
But that's completely and utterly ridiculous. I'm not supporting them with DLC. I wasn't going to in the first place but now, that just re-affirms it for me that I shouldn't.
But yeah, that is a bad example, but still, noteworthy nonetheless.
I think though that games like Lonpos that will feature additional puzzles is a great idea, akin to what games like Professor Layton on the DS is doing. But still, they need to get the pricing right on DLC.
I'm interested to see what other games will use DLC.

but imagine how many blocks would/could be wasted with DLC... it's far easier to incorporate the things in the game, and then sell a release code thingy, to unlock them in the game... it offers the appearance of updating, but to be honest, for what they could make, and the take up it'd recieve, it's not worth keeping a team to create the content for it

Exactly!!
I'm already having a hard time with memory as it is to be worrying about DLC. But yes, it is easier to have them included in the game in the first place, rather than make it seem like they're ripping people off. >_>
