Do you agree that there should continue to be a low number of M-Rated games for Wii?

This topic is a bit silly, M rated games, now you really are condemming the Wii/Nintendo to only have and produce kids games, yet nintendo strive hard to show it isn't a kid console.

I heard the reason Wiimotes are shaped like TV remotes is to target players of all ages, and some people might like M-rated games.

I don't really care much about ratings as much as content.

Since when are T-Rated games "kiddie". I can mention numerous examples. They don't have to go all out M-Rated to show that the system isn't exclusively "kid-oriented" but having a wider selection may allow them to boost up their image but I say just stick with Teen Games. There's a far better market there that they've already tapped anyway, especially with Brawl. Why move onto something higher that's kinda controversial?

I Think it would be a great idea to put more m-rated games for the wii because then people will realize that the wii is just not for kids.

I THINK NINTENDO SHOULD MAKE A WHOLE BUNCH OF M-RATED GAMES. REASONS:

#1: IT'LL STOP SMALL KIDS FROM PLAYING THE WII TOO MUCH
#2: IT TAKES AWAY THE STEREOTYPE THAT THE WII IS FOR LITTLE KIDS ONLY AND THE XBOX360 AND PS3 IS FOR OLDER PEOPLE
#3: WE NEED MORE M-RATED GAMES ANYWAYS. THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE BLOOD AND GOR ALL THE TIME, BUT JUST TO STOP THOSE ANNOYING LIITLE KIDS FROM PLAYING THIS TOO MUCH...!!!

Phew.

Oh no, I wasn't centering you, EF. I used it as a basis for something I wanted to get across which tends to get ignored a bit when I mention it elsewhere.

And max, if not Violence and Gore than you want Sexual Innuendo? Hm. Nice. xD
No srsly, though, as much as I'd hate to admit it, I think Violence/Gore would be more of a... reputation enhancer, if you will, than sexually-explicit games. Both are equally disgusting imo, but what do I know...

RE: Do you agree that there should continue to be a low number of M-Rated games for Wii?

Gorey games aren't bad, but they aren't good...

In some respects games would suck because of it.

Take this example, do we play banjo kazooie, hoping for blood and gore everytime we roll attack, or rat-ta-tak some monster? No, because it'd ruin the fun loving character design and the style it's played.

But we won't and don't expect to see a game like mortal kombat without blood, if we did we'd be annoyed because thats wha the games known for, and the blood suits the style of the game extremely well.

We don't expect to see blood with mario or sonic, when they kill enemies.
[Then again we didnt' expect to see guns on shadow either, but look what happened there, hang your head in shame SEGA OF AMERICA, how could you do that to faithful shadow fans]

But, some games blood would look silly without, i can think of a few examples, No More Heroes, has blood in the american version yet i believe in the japanese [or maybe only europeon/pal] version, there isn't blood. Yet it still looks awesome. ALthough the blood may of made the game slightly better, but nevertheless the game suits no blood and blood.

So it depends on the style and the type of game imo.

Ks8, no, not sexual content, and EF, not that much gore. Just some more games to show that the Wii isn't a kiddie console. No More Heroes does that pretty well.

Gore doesn't make a difference, and i believe gaming has yet to venture into the right direction, i mean how many games have you seen overly cencored because of the whole "no nudity" in games thing. i believe it's a bit stupid. Sure sure, it's not welcome but if the story is right, and it fits with the game properly i don't see much of a problem. Some games stay away from sex/nudity far too much, games are adapted films basically, they are animated etc... like these cartoons are, so whats the difference? None, i mean you only played them, it's not like we're asking to do the sex, etc... but they've no need to cencor it so much. I believe some games are ruined by the fact they are too scared to venture into this area aswell.

And why wouldn't they be? They're playing with people's emotions here, after all. I mean, what are they teaching kids/teens (and yes, I said "kids") with all this anyway?

But I was just waiting for someone to mention NMH. ;) I had a feeling max would be the one to do it, too. Heh.

Anyway, what EF said is true: Some games would be ruined by the incorporation of blood and some have added it discreetly/tactfully so as not to hamper one's experience with the game, especially for long-time fans of a series who would be disgusted at the sight of blood even appearing in the series (hm, now what series could I possibly be referring to... hmmmmmmmm.....?).
