Shy  Disc Errors, I need help soon

Ok, so my can usually play discs fine, even Super Smash Bros. Brawl which is known to have problems because its a dual layered disc. But sometimes I get an error saying "cannot read game disc, eject and turn the power off."

This has happened with Guitar Hero 3, Sonic and the Secret Rings, and SSB:Brawl, probably about 7 or 8 times now. Usually I can just put the game back in the Wii and it will play. If it doesn't, then it will the 3rd time I try.

What should I do? Is this normal?
Should I send it to Nintendo? I heard they will fix Wii's that are having problems with Brawl for free and have them back within 7 days so should I take advantage of that or is there something else?

RE: Disc Errors, I need help soon

do you smoke at all???

a lot of the japanese who smoke found it damaged the laser on the wii, and a lot of them had issues playing games, however, nintendo offered to clean the laser on the wii... why not just get a regular cleaning CD, and use it on your wii? It'd be useful for a lot of other CD cleaning tasks in the future.

RE: Disc Errors, I need help soon

No I don't smoke. I don't have a warranty on my Wii anymore either. But I think fixing the Wii because of Brawl problems is free.

Do you mean like a disc cleaning device? Sorry I'm kinda confused.

Something similar to this

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Modu...doy=search

all it does is clean the lens on the disc drive (and that's all nintendo are likely to do anyway)... and they're relatively cheap aswell

I just chose to show you an expensive one, as it was the first one i found... try searching amazon for cd lens cleaner

RE: Disc Errors, I need help soon

Ok I'll check it out. I'm kinda afraid that I would send it to Nintendo and since I only have disc errors sometimes they would just assume that its fine and send it back.

I'll try to get the lens cleaner too.

RE: Disc Errors, I need help soon

Hmm..I haven't had any errors lately. I won't be able to pick up the disc cleaner for a few days, but I'll post here after so maybe someone else with this problem can find a solution.
